What can participants expect from IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE? How does it work?

  • IDIS participation starts with an interview (for companies) or a written questionnaire (for independent professionals), focusing on defining the questions and issues most important to the participant in terms of business or entrepreneurship.
  • We then write a description of these issues and add it to the IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE database. The description remains in the database during participation (minimally for one year).
  • The issues are then published in the IDIS internet site in two ways:
    o in detail - but anonymous - for participants with a password;
    o in general terms - and anonymously - for non-participants; to receive more detailed information, visitors must first register with the IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE (as a participant).
  • All participants in the IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE also regularly receive an e-mail newsletter which informs them of the issues and questions contributed by regular participants (minimally once quarterly; maximally once monthly, depending partly on the number of new registrations.)
  • IDIS also actively seeks to match questions and issues with potential answers and solutions. For example, if a company or independent entrepreneur is searching for a new business partner, they will be immediately notified when a participant reports that he or she is looking for this position.
  • If a potential match is found, IDIS will bring the parties involved into contact. The identities of the parties will be revealed - after approval by both parties - on the principle of 'mutual synchronisation' (both parties simultaneously reveal their identities). IDIS will be responsible for arranging this.
  • After establishing first contact, the parties are responsible for further agreements and possible next steps. In principle, IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE does not play an active role in this. Of course, if desired, the parties can make use of other IDIS services, like advice or coaching. (See pages 6 and 7.)
  • IDIS will also take the initiative to arrange not only the exchange of information between participants, but also personal meetings, if desired. We're considering organising meetings to focus on specific, frequently occurring issues for design entrepreneurs. We'll be surveying participants to find out which themes are the most important.
  • A year after registration as a participant, and in each subsequent year of participation, IDIS will update the description made in the beginning (through a questionnaire). But issues and questions can be changed, removed and updated at any time.
  • Conditions
    IDIS reserves the right at all times to reject questions and issues deemed unsuitable for the nature and aims of IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE. For example, it is considered unacceptable to use the IDIS BUSINESS EXCHANGE for the acquisition of commissions.
